We keep your drivers awake so they arrive home safely
Driver Health & Safety
Road traffic crashes are a leading cause of death and serious injury according to reports of United Nations (UN), claiming the lives of 1.3 million people every year. The South African Department of Transport’s Arrive Alive campaign notes that driver fatigue is one of the most significant threats to the safety of all road users, often leading to head-on collisions and rollover crashes.

Even experienced drivers face fatigue
Truck drivers are exposed to a wide range of occupational factors that can increase their vulnerability to fatigue, including prolonged driving, variable shift patterns, and urban traffic congestion.
Protect your most important asset, your people
Seeing Machines Driver Health & Safety Research Program is specifically designed to measure the risks related to fatigue and distraction.
- Identify key factors that influences a driver’s cognitive state
- Understand the impact of fatigue and distraction
- Improve policies to incorporate the findings
Aimed at Health and Safety Managers, the program offers insight into the effectiveness of current policies and measures taken to reduce the risk of accidents. These findings can be used to improve policies and develop necessary tools and training programs for drivers.

Sustainable transportation
The UN Sustainable Development Goals include a call for action to reduce road deaths globally and ensure access to safe, affordable and sustainable transport for everyone by 2030.
South Africa is a signatory to the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020, with efforts focused on 4 key areas including fatigue or driver fitness.
In 2020, the UN General Assembly adopted a new resolution on improving global road safety. In alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 3.6, it declared a Second Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021- 2030 with a revised goal to reduce deaths and injuries by 50% by 2030.
But we are going one step further: our goal is ZERO transport fatalities.
"Safe transport should be available to all people, in all locations"
Seeing Machines exists to get everyone home safely. We believe technology in fleets and public transport is key to equalising the opportunities for safe and sustainable transportation around the world.

One UN Vision for Road Safety
The UN Road Safety Strategy is built on five road safety pillars, including safer vehicles. Within Action 6, fleet managers are encouraged to acquire and use devices that actively measures fatigue, physical strain or stress and substances.
Guardian is a real-time driver fatigue and distraction system that can help ensure your drivers get home safely.
